    Default Any one in Afghanistan?

I'm still pretty new. I thought that it would be great if there was a group for us down range. So I put up the group "Down Range Defoliation" We have some challenges that others don't, and sometimes we must improvise.
    Threads could include things like
    1) Best uses for CLP in shaving/razor care.
    2) Cargo straps/Engineer tape for stroping.
    3) APO ship times for various vendors.
    4) Is there anyone on your base/FOB that can help with hones?

So far I'm the only member of the group. But I think it could have value.

Not downrange anymore. OEF/OND 2010-2011 was enough for me.

I don't think CLP would be a good idea on razor steel. It's purposely designed as a penetrating oil, so I think you're probably going to have a blade that at the very least smells like the inside of a rifle for many years, and if it gets on the scales, you've probably got yourself a problem.

Engineer tape would make a good linen type strop material, I would think, but if I'm not mistaken, the edges are raised and it's not flat. Bad news for the edge.

The only shortcut I've learned (and I put this in another forum) is using Purell as aftershave.
