Thanked: 0Any Hone Meisters near SF?
So, I'm a long time lurker, first time poster. I've been shaving with a straight for about... a year? maybe a little more. Love the experience, love the SRP forums, and I love my shaves...
Long story short, my razors are getting really dull, and I can't seem to put an edge on them as much as I try. So: I'm looking to learn how to properly hone my razor(s), and I was hoping someone near / in the greater bay area would be willing to teach me!
It's a long shot, but here's to hoping.

Good luck in your search . . . are you using paddles and pastes now? You might consider a skype session, speaking over the phone with Lynn, etc too. Updating an edge is pretty easy if you use a conservative approach.

Thanked: 0oh man. actually the only thing i'm using right now is the norton 4k/8k on an old griffin razor, and a red imp -- my dovo and TI are still kinda sharp, in that i can shave with them and not get bitten too badly.
I've been using a belt as a strop (which i think is a big mistake) and I'm gonna put in an order for a beginner strop from that well shaved gentleman website.
word.
