Good shave tonight
I had my first really good shave tonight with my straight. I did good prep time and took my time to make sure I did the shave as best I could. I did 3 passes, first pass I went north to south, second pass against the grain and thrid pass about 45 degree angle. I used Nancy Boy cream (love it) AOS badger brush, 5/8 razor honed by Lynn and I stropped with a Tony strop. Tonight I think I got the BBS my face is so smooth right now. I ended the shave with some Jason's Aloe Vera and some Proraso aftershave balm. I let my wife touch my face after I shaved (normally I never allow this) and she even said WOW thats smooth I still have lots to learn and more practice as well but by far the best shave I have had so far with a straight. Best thing was my little girl was watching me and asking me questions about my shave.

Good job man --looks like things are going well. I know you like the Jason Natural stuff. I think I saw real improvements with my shaves when I started using their preshave 6-n-1 skin and beard therapy --whatever it's called. So the Jason Aloe vera is pretty good? I tell ya their stuff is really good for the money.

Good job, canman...I just had my first shave this morning - I long for the BBS shave - until I get there, I live vicariously through you.

Great to hear, canman. There've been a lot of n00bs coming along well recently it's hard to keep track of everyone's progress. I thought most of you had already been shaving for a week or two. Enjoy this early part of the learning curve. It's steep.

Thanked: 0You got it! One you can ride bare 4rsed to London on, one that's in need of cleaning and polishing before I venture into the world of honing and one that's on it's way to HRH Lynn Abrams Duke of Ohio.
It's Wilkinson Sword's Classic all the way for me at the moment. Dull as dish water!
