Thread: Is this a good kit to start with?

That first kit would be a great starting point, it has what you need all of it good quality.
I started on a 2 1/2 inch strop, (nothing wrong with either size)
chances are your first will get a bit nicked up so like most other things in this sport you will change out and or upgrade.
Brushes, strops, razors, and soap/cream are such a personal thing that you will need to find what works for you.

If you go with that kit from SRD the variables are limited because all the components are of known quality.

The choice is ultimately yours but that is a good starting point (with a bit nicer razor to boot).

Oh and BTW, when I first saw the a Bismarck picture posted by someone else here on the forum a few months ago, I was so disappointed that it was out of stock, i checked the website everyday, and emailed them to find out when more would be coming in haha, he second they received more, I placed an order and spent a ridiculous $50 extra for UPS Air Overnight shipping hahaha...it was soooo worth it!
