Thanked: 0Roger that 10 pups, I didn't expect that much help that fast. Usually on forums I get the grumpy member who obviously can't be bothered to answer a newbs ignorant questions. Seems like a better vibe here though. Looking forward to learning something from you folks.

It was not that long ago I was the newb,
now if I could just get past the ignorant questions I would be all right.
I still do a lot of searching and reading here, I am always turning up something new to try or tweak.
It started off a lot of fun and has continued.
We are fortunate to have a great community of members and moderators here.It is just Whisker Whacking
Relax and Enjoy!

Welcome, as you have seen there are rules but most are commonsense, the ones that'll catch you out are valuations and buying/selling and even offers to buy, sell or trade outside of the classifieds or pm system.

Welcome to the most friendly, helpful and informative site on the web!!
You will find members here of all different backgrounds, ages and occupations from all corners of the world and all with a quest for more knowledge about using and maintaining a straight razor!
Yes there are rules and I am glad that they are enforced! That's what makes this a 'Gentleman's Forum'.
With all of that said, If you notice, those of us who have taken time to help you get started properly all have included where we are from this vast world!
It would help if you could include where you are from as hands on help may be available! Trust me! A small amount of time spent with an experienced member will teach you more in a few short hours than you will learn in months and months of reading and watching videos!
I speak from experience! The few hours I was privileged watching Glen (GSSIXGUN) show honing and restoration work (and being able to stop him and show me what I had a question about) improved my honing 10 times over and I'm using the exact same set up as before!
Again, Welcome! Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.
