Default First shave down, hooked for life

Got my straight back today from getting honed.
So i decided to shower and then attempt to shave afterwords.

All went well, no nicks or cuts. However i did have a heck of a time working up a good lather.
I didnt quite get it, but what i got did work to an extent.
My face is only slightly irritated, im going to guess its due to my improper lather.

It is definitely something im going to stick with. I enjoyed it greatly, far better than the daily chore of standard shaving.

I'll upload a picture i took, but not now. Photobucket is down for some reason so i cannot log on.

Congrats! I've only been at it for a few weeks. It's been nice to take a mundane task and turn it into a hobby.

    There we go
Thought it would be cool to take a picture like this for my profile.
Notice, the blade is nowhere near my face..

Glad it went well, what did you do to try and get a lather?
Bread and water can so easily become tea and toast

Light irritation after your 1st str8 shave is normal. If the process felt smooth to your skin with no pulling and the result was good then I'd assume your angles were good. Improve your prep and you'll likely eliminate the minor irritation.
Keep your concentration high and your angles low!

Despite the high cost of living, it's still very popular.

Yes, what were the ingredient (s) and technique for your lather? We can help you with that as well.
