Default Newbie straight shaver in Miami

Hello all, I'm new to the straight razor scene and Miami altogether. I was wondering if anyone in the area knows of any locations where a newbie could go locally and pick up all their shaving needs. Right now I'm still looking to find a straight razor as I'm using a shavette, and don't know of any antique stores, flee markets, or exchanges in the area. Any info on the area would greatly be appreciated!

Let me welcome you to SRP

I wish I could be of some viable assistance on the rest but cannot.

Welcome to the site. I do not know about Miami as I live in Pompano Beach. In Boca Town Center shopping center there is a "Art of Shaving" store. They carry everything. You can also go to CVS and buy a kit with a bowl, soap and brush from "Van Der Hagen" for under $20. Good start for a beginner. Straight Razor Designs is good for razors, strops. Also try the classified ads on this site. You will get all the help you need as everyone is great.

Also, I can't stress enough the importance of reading and research on SRP before making a purchase. In addition to watching as many shaving videos and tutorials here, the is the library, the SRP wiki, stickies in the beginners subsection of the forum...

Ask lots of questions if you can't find the answer or don't understand. No shame in asking. As all of us newbies have come to realize at some point or another, listening is a valuable commodity.

Welcome, Csnyder. Enjoy the ride! And, remember, everybody's journey is different. Patience. Perserverence.

Welcome. No help with Florida but I would highly recommend keeping your eye on the classifieds here. I bought my first couple that way and they're still used regularly.
Keep your concentration high and your angles low!

Despite the high cost of living, it's still very popular.

Thanks everyone for the input, I'll start out getting my razor from here or SRD. I'm just super excited to get into the hunt for finding an old straight locally and "hopefully" getting it for a steal. I'm sure many more questions will pop up so I'll be looking forward to hearing from everyone again in the future.
