Glad to hear it! When I first started someone told me to just try to "wipe" the lather off vice trying to go after the whiskers. Helped me visualize the amount of pressure I needed.
The older I get the more I realize how little I actually know.

I'm a year in and still trying to work things out. I recently had a wee enforced (financial) break from my straights as I couldn't afford to have them re-honed.
It felt great to have them back and surprisingly familiar in both left and right hands when it came to the first shave. I went for XTG and nicked myself!
What I have done the past few days is 2 passes WTG and for me it gives a DFS although rough in patches when rubbed ATG. The best bit is I'm very comfortable WTG and there is little to no irritation. Just keep it light and watch your angle YMMV.

Man... Seems like yesterday I posted this. Sure have came a long way. Honing my own razors and all. Still learning but man it sure has been fun. almost exactly a year.
