"Singing" Razors?
Just a quick couple of questions:
Why do they call it a singing razor, and how is it different than other TI razors, or for that fact, how is it different than the 5/8 classic black Dovo I got from Tony?
Do they have better performance? Are they harder/easier to hone? Are they stainless steel or carbon steel?
Any info about this would be great. Thanks in advance.

Thanked: 346"singing" is a sobriquet for razors that make a lot of noise when shaving because they're so thin that they vibrate very easily. On some of them you can also pluck the edge with your thumbnail to elicit a note of some kind, though this is usually followed by some quality time on the norton to fix the edge.
They can be made from any steel, but you usually find these in carbon because the steel usually isn't as hard. They're not better or worse, just different. Some guys prefer a thinner noisier edge, some prefer heavier stiffer razors. The Wonderedge is probably the most famous representative of the singing style, and the Friodur is probably the most famous representative of the non-singing yet still fully hollow ground style (obviously wedges don't sing unless you hit them with a hammer).
