What they said. Less pressure, less angle , fewer passes, more experience and a sharper blade. After a while you won't feel an alum burn anymore.

Yes, it's to the point now where I can almost tell when it's time to take a blade to the CrOx or the coticule for a refresh! If the alum bites (which I think feels great), and I'm fairly sure I haven't done anything radically different, it's usually a sign to refresh the blade...but man, I really like that alum block!!!
