Thanked: 0Am i doing something wrong
Hello Everyone
I have two razors 1 Dovo best quality shaves great. The other Dovo 4580 both honed by pro 4580 pulls tried paste strop
still pulls. Is there some difference I need to compensate for? Any help would be thankful for. Two 1/2 months and counting.
Thanks, Very much

Were they both honed by the same person? The easiest thing initially may be to contact that person and see if they can help isolate the issue as they would know best the state both razors were in when they were shipped back to you.
I don't own any Dovos personally but I'm sure plenty of people will read this who have owned them and may be able to offer any differences specific to the models you are using.
Hang in there and keep on shaving... It definitely gets BETTER!!! :-D

Thanked: 0Yes
Both were honed by the same person and I only seem to have trouble with the 4580 I really like the STR shave I know it takes a while
I have been learning a little everyday just can't understand all the pulling.
Thank for your help

You really shouldn't see much difference in the shave with both of these razors. As long as you're using the same technique with both then the edge has a problem. So much of your situation (experience) is unknown. To be fair your technique may have been the issue initially and then going to a pasted strop so soon may have caused more problems if your stropping is a little off. How many circuits did you do on the pasted strop? I'd talk to the person who honed them and ask if they will redo the 4580 for you. Because of the unknowns here I'd offer to pay for the re-honing. They may not take it but I'd make the offer.
Keep your concentration high and your angles low!

Thanked: 9As already suggested, your stropping may have dulled the other just a bit. Know anyone locally you can contact? You can always send it out and have it honed.

Thanked: 0I don't think it is the stropping i have stroped the Dovo best when it starts to pull and it is fantastic again. Both razors were honed by Mr abrams i had tryed to hone the 4580 he fixed it i just wonder of it has to have a littke different angle or what to try i like to try to alternate between the two ordered a white handle Dovo best from StR Designs should arrive today will know tomorrow.
Thanks, everyone

Just to simplify things rule yourself out of all problems you may be having at 2 1/2 months. There could be some bad juju at play or the universe is having a molecular sub atomic war on the bevel of one of your razors. Forge ahead, there is plenty more fun to be had.

Thanked: 0Hi All
As i have had trouble with this razor pulling and just can't seem to find the sweet spot
even before it was stroped and tryed stropping to see if it would help as my other razor
always seems to be fine after 7 laps on pasted cloth strop cleaned 25 on clean and 50 laps
on leather i don't think stropping caused it. Maybe this razor needs a slight angle difference.
