Just introducing myself
Hi I'm Bobby. I just signed up on the forum and thought I'd introduce myself. I'm 29 and I'm from Tennessee,US. I recently purchased my first straight razor(Dovo Best Quality 6/8) and now have 3 shaves under my belt. It is quite amazing. I just bought my second a few minutes ago. 1924-1935 H. boker & Co king cutter 5/8. I can't wait to get started with it. I am very new to SR shaving and forums so any advice on either is appreciated.
Thanks in advance...

Hi and welcome. Check out the library for all the starter info. The search at the top is also great for finding out info. Good luck with the shaves. Ed

Hello and welcome, the only advice I would give on the forum is be polite, and don't ask to buy or sell stuff on forums outside of the classifieds.
With regards to shaving eddies advice is pretty good, there are lots of resources already here, including existing threads, if you look through the beginners forum area there are many threads that cover the run of the mill questions, but saying that feel free to ask if you want to know anything.
I hope we can help you with your new interest.
Best regards

Thank you for the advice. I think the biggest problem for me right now is lathering up the shave soap. I have bought a Silvertip badger brush for lathering but it's hard to tell what the consistency is supposed to be. Locally I can only buy Williams and VDH. I would like to order a better quality shave soap but there are so many to chose from and I don't want to spend a fortune trying out different soaps.

Check out the soaps forum for lathering advice. If you have hard water bottled water may help. You also need to make sure you load the brush properly. From memory both those soaps are hard so soaking a bit might help. Ed
