Thanked: 41Hello from Maryland
I just wanted to say hi, I've been lurking this forum for some time learning. I received a set of Norton stones from my children for Christmas and successfully honed my pair of Dovos. Thank you to Lynn for great vids

Welcome to SRP and good luck. Sounds like you've been involved for a while or did you get the Dovos at the same time?
Keep your concentration high and your angles low!
Despite the high cost of living, it's still very popular.

Thanked: 41I had a dovo 6/8 for about 3 months. Never honed just stropped the factory edge. I was getting an adequate shave, but I knew there was more I could get out of it. The kids got me a 5/8 and a norton set with 220/1000 and 4k/8k combo, plus the flattening stone .
Yea they are great kids

Thanked: 375HardCase - Not sure where you're at in Maryland, but if your close enough and need any help with honing, I'm about 45 min from North East and about 30 min from the line. Just thought I'd offer.....
