if I was starting out fresh I would watch every video on u tube on the subject. as far as a razors and strop I think there is a site you can get shave ready used razor and used strop to start with and a shave ready razor is what you want that way you want cut up an expensive strop learning the technique and give you some time to decide what razor and strop you would like. I may be wrong but I think it's whipped dog razors. I 'll double ck on that. there is so many good razors out there when you can find them. a lot of the new brands like dovo and boker are sold out a lot. anyway welcome to the place and enjoy.

The pins are made from 1/16 brass rod and matching washers. Look up pinning in the search box and chech out Gssixgun on YouTube.

Thanked: 4206Genco is a good US brand from back in the day. I own two Genco's and an Ontario Cutlery that I believe is from the same Company.
You can get pin sets as well as scales from members on here as well as online auction sites and aside from requiring a light ball peen hammer can reset pins without much issue.
Good luck and enjoy.
