    Default Hi all

Just thought it was time to introduce myself
I have thought about straight razor shaving on and off for a couple of years now. It never went any further than that, until recently finding this site, which has been a great source of information and encouragement.
So after reading your advice for newbie’s listening to a lot and ignoring some, I have bought myself a polish army razor, strop and stone from that polish guy whatjmacallhim on eBay. I know it’s not the recommended route but it suits my budget for now and I'm watching out for a nice shave ready razor from your list of recommended sellers and plan to try and make the polish razor shave ready using one of yours as a baseline.
Anyway hi all and thank you.

    Default Welcome, heliguy

You've been doing your reading obviously. If you haven't gotten to the Permanent Archives in the Help Files make sure you spend lots of time down there. It's extremely useful stuff.

If you're waiting for one on the recommended vendors, you can always purchase one from another member of the SRP. Just go to the forum fro Buy/Sell/Trade and post thread with WTB in the title. I know DMS (one of the members here on SRP) has a nice round point 6/8 he'll be posting soon.

I am a big Tony Miller fan for his pasted paddle strops and hanging strops. Take a look. http://shop.thewellshavedgentleman.com/splashPage.hg
