Tony is definitely the way to go for a one stop buy. You get all you need to start off shaving. And for a price that is well under you budget. You have a pretty high price there. I'm not saying thats bad, but remember that you need a strop and eventually a couple hones, or a hone and a pasted strop. This is all part of keeping your razor in good shape. Not to mention that you may need to get a shave brush and some soap. I wouldn't suggest using canned shave gel. Working a good lather is so much more fulfilling. Anyway, you can spend your money however, and nice new razor is grand, but just keep in mind that there are still other things to buy.

I agree DON'T spend that much on your first razor unless you have money to burn. It's not that the razor isn't worth it, it is just I agree with a Tony Miller package. You will get everything you need without spending a fortune. You can always get a higher priced razor later on. Trust me on this you won't get a better shave just because the razor costs more. I got some of my best shaves from a no name German razor I got for $40. go figure.

I wouldn't spend that much on a first razor before I knew how to strop and hone properly. I don't think I'd want to use a razor like that for practice. I wouldn't even want to use a $125 razor like that. If you don't know what your doing you can mess up the edge faster that you can whistle dixie. And then you'll be one of those guys posting saying I have this razor I just got and it was sharpened by...and all I did was use it once and it won't shave now what do I do. Get yourself some cheapie to practice with and like the guys said get a kit from one of the guys here and later on indulge yourself.

Thanked: 0Get your Dovo and save some of that cash for a nice quality strop. Razors come and go, the strop will be used for all the razors. Stainless and Carbon alike.
The strop will be used for all the razors, but i disagree that razor come and go. How can you be so inscensitive to your razors in that fashion. A good blade will shave you and your children. Im not sure you can say the same for a strop.Last edited by FredS; 03-02-2007 at 04:54 AM.
