Thread: First Shave!

Last night I shaved my legs (I'm a female) with my straight razor for the first time and it went wonderfully! Nicked myself a few times but other than that it went better than I thought it would. Definitely hooked.

Now I'm trying to convince a friend to let me shave his beard with a straight, though I should probably practice more to get the technique down before I start putting a straight to someone's neck.

It's probably easier to shave someone elses face than yor own but, still, after just a leg or two, you might give it a few more days before having at it.

That's awesome. Every once in a while I'll try to convince my wife to do the same, but then I temper that with how crazy she is with a razor. No fineesse there whatsover.

Congrats on shaving your legs! I'd love to get my wife to try it. I think she'd be good at it. Her father is a Barber and has a huge collection of straights she could choose from. I think shaving over your knees or around the ankle could be similar to shaving a man's chin. Might get a dull razor from ebay or try using a butter knife first to get the hand positions down but I bet you could do it. Have fun and enjoy shaving with straight razors.
