Thanked: 2How does a purchase on SRP work?
Hello everyone, My name is Wayne & I am new to straight shaving(at home, myself). I am not sure the proper way a purchase is made through SRP.
Does se the seller have to approve your purchase if you paid the asking price? I was a little confused by the email I got after I paid for my purchase. I thought the seller got shipping info via paypal.
i couldn't find other threads that discussed this specifically. Any help or direct link to this would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

PANLEE -- Welcome, I hope your experience here is a happy one, this forum is full of helpful and friendly individuals.
Typically, when purchasing through the classifieds, if you use the "buy it now" button, you'll be taken directly to PayPal to complete the purchase. Details of shipping and any other terms would ordinarily be handle by email afterword. Buyers should be sure to check their junk mail and spam filters -- it's happened to me a few times that a buyer doesn't receive acknowledgement from me because my emails get filtered. Use the PM system also to make sure that everything is happening the way you want.Don't get hung up on hanging hairs.

Hi Wayne,
Probably the best course of action would be to ask the seller, they should be able to clear up any misunderstandings.

Assuming I have no questions I will follow 2 potential paths depending on if the "buy it now" button has been activated. First thing I do is send a PM & email to the seller establishing that I want to buy the item and that I'm about to use the "buy it now" button if it's been activated. If activated I then go ahead and use the button. If not activated I wait for a response to my email / PM.
Keep your concentration high and your angles low!
Despite the high cost of living, it's still very popular.

Thanked: 2Thank you everyone! I was thrown off by that notification that I got. I did not understand the completion of purchases via that email! My SRP mail/notifications are going to my spam folder. How can I change that ? Besides my email setting on my end?

Thanked: 603From my personal experience as a seller, here on SRP, it's important to differentiate between "PM" and "email" -- the former uses the forum's Private Message facility, and identifies the potential buyer by his SRP user name; the latter uses the Classified's "Contact Seller" button, and sends an email message from buyer to seller, using only their 'private' email addresses.
Having been "burned" by an SRP member (who, to this day, remains "anonymous"), I state in all ads I post to contact me via PM, only, and don't reply to email messages I receive about them.
The problem with Buy It Now (as a seller) is that it does not "respect" any shipping limitations one might state in an ad (which has resulted in my having to refund someone's money, as well as causing frustration and ill-will).Last edited by JBHoren; 01-29-2014 at 06:09 PM.
You can have everything, and still not have enough.
I'd give it all up, for just a little more.
