Thanked: 0Hello All
I am new to the forum and straight razor shaving. I have been thinking about getting a straight razor for a while now, and recently I grew a beard and thought what better way to keep my beard nicely shaped than a straight razor. So after weeks of research, I just pulled the trigger on this deal
Dovo 5/8 INOX Stainless Straight Razor Set
Can anybody tell me their opinions on that set up, and any absolutely need to know tips for my first shave? Luckily I will be avoiding the tricky under-nose and chin areas due to my beard, but any tips would be of help.
Thanks,
-Nick

If you haven't already seen it start here:
http://straightrazorpalace.com/begin...ead-first.html
If you razor comes Shave Ready do not strop or anything like that prior to shaving the first time... That way you avoid any issues that arise from incorrect stropping.
Cruise the site and try to watch at least one video each login... And, of you have YouTube access on your TV watch that way amd you'll pick up a lot more!

Phil will definitely send you a "shave ready" razor. As has been said don't strop it before your first use. Study hard and good luck.
Keep your concentration high and your angles low!
Despite the high cost of living, it's still very popular.

Welcome! Once you get a few shaves under your belt you may feel the need to trim that beard to a goatee so that you get the fun of doing a full stroke down your cheeks! Experience talking here (but now my beard is completely gone)...

Thanked: 0HAHA
I don't know man, I am pretty serious about my beard growth right now, and what really clinched the SR switch was that I would be able to do great cheek and neck lines with a straight razor. regular razors are terrible for it.
Also, it will just add to my morning prep of beard wash, condition and beard oil, so just gonna take the morning to the next level
