Thanked: 0Why Did I Wait So Long?
Hello everyone,
I just received my new straight razor kit from SRD this week and would first like to thank Lynn Abrams for delivering me such a beautifully sharp blade. I was so excited to get right to shaving with this razor. First shave went well minus one tiny tiny nick, second shave went well too except for me going against the grain on my lower neck, this caused some razor burn. Stropping has gone well, but I owe that to my Great grandfather who was a barber for 60+ years until the day he died. He taught me how to strop straights when i was about 8 years old, I used to hang out in the barber shop with him all the time as a kid... I cant believe I waited so long to start shaving with a straight razor... All in all I'm very happy I made the switch...

I waited a long time as well before I bought my first kit and thought the same thing - why did I wait??? LOL
Congrats on the first couple shaves. Read up on some techniques and you'll be getting blood-free shaves in no time

Congrats on the good first shaves. You didn't wait too long you waited until the time was right. Enjoy the time from now on.

Yep, ATG with a straight can be troublesome, but you'll get a feel for it. Just watch the pressure and angle (gentle, shallow). I've found that the SR solved my skin problems, so I also feel regret for waiting as long as I did.
Can it be barbaric and civilized at the same time?
