    Default Hello

Hey everyone!! As I am sure you know I am a noob to this straight razor stuff. I have been reading in this forum and some others for weeks now trying to get some info. in head about this straight shaving. I am hooked and don't even have a blade yet nor have I even tried to shaved yet. I just thought that it was time to register and start posting. I also wanted you guys to know that this place has some great reading in the post that are in here very informative for the new guy. I also have a question for you experienced fellas. I am a tinkerer and wanted to know if there is any info. on where I can get scales, pins, jigs and anything else that you could think of so that I may refurbish some blades. I have seen many blades on Ebite that i would like to practice on. Thanks, oh yeah anyone have any blades f/s that would make a good first timer like myself? i am hooked and dont have a blade yet and shoot I havent even shaved yet

    Cheers

    Wooky,

Welcome. I'm about a month ahead of you, but in much the same boat.

For all things relating to razor restoration work, I would check out Bill Ellis' CD which can be found at the link below.

    http://www.billysblades.com/Straight%20Razor%20Book.htm

Bill used to be a regular member here on the SRP, but for reasons unknown to me, he left, deleting all his posts. Regardless, the CD is excellent, and Bill himself is a good source of information.

    Take care,
    John

PS You've got a big job ahead of you. Wookies have full beards....

    Smile Welcome, wooky

Somebody call in the doctors this guy is really sick. Simptoms? Well, he doesn't own a razor, but he wants to start refurbishing it, so ... delusional maybe, obsessive at least. I'd test for RAD and a half dozen other shaving gear aquisition disorders. I'll let the specialists handle this one.

Doctors papabull, garythepenman, toxic etc. please report to Diagnostics. We better make sure he doesn't find out about Colleen.
