Thanked: 22nd straight razor ideas?
Hi everyone Drew here I'm looking to buy my second straight razor and would like your input. Please let me know what you think and why. I currently own a dovo ebony silver steel and looking for a blade to add to the rotation. If been shaving for a month now and ready for another toy with quality. Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks
Sully

Hi Drew. I have the ebony too and it's a great razor. As for a second razor I would recommend looking for a vintage maybe a Kropp there seems to be quite a few popping up on fleabay quite cheap I've seen them going (well bought a few) all around £15-£25 which would be around $25-$42. Good Sheffield steel and all mine shave very well and at that price why splash out on a new Dovo?

I agree with morph1886 , a good sheffield blade would be a nice choice. I would also advice you to browse the classifields!

Good timing for this thread. I actually picked up a Sheffield - Seller and Sons on ebay last night for $27.00. Looks like it's in mint condition. I don't know if I will but another brand new razor when you can get 'like new' for so cheap.
What a curse be a dull razor; what a prideful comfort a sharp one

When you're ready for a second razor it usually comes down to what appeals to you. Keep in mind introducing a new razor can have an affect on your shaving technique. Every razor is like a snowflake. Each one is just a little different. I normally suggest to newer shavers to stick with one razor until you've hit a nice level of proficiency. Then introduce a second one.
Keep your concentration high and your angles low!
Despite the high cost of living, it's still very popular.
