    Default New to forum

Hey everyone! I'm new to the forum and interested in learning more about this. I have a daughter (1 1/2 years old and gets into EVERYTHING) so I bought a safety straight razor...I still want to get into the real deal. Any recommendations for storage?

    Welcome to SRP.

I have a 5 month old and have started to ponder this exact same thing. I will be putting mine on a shelf in my office/shave den that is well out of reach. If for any reason I feel that this is not adequate I will be investing in an Alembic case Alembic Products

It is lockable so no worries of small hands getting into sharp razors and has an area for a desiccant pack to keep razors dry while being stores.

Make sure to include your location in your profile. You never know who might be just around the corner and willing to help.

Medicine cabinet above the bathroom sink or a spot in your bedroom wardrobe are my suggestions for keeping little fingers at bay. I wouldn't suggest the cabinet for a 'real' razor though. I have three daughters with the youngest being three and a half. I've never had issues with them getting into things they shouldn't, but I know some kids will get into anything you tell them to leave alone...So I don't make those boundary's if I can possible help it. I figure it's a bit like reverse psychology .

Hi and welcome. Any lockable case will do well just use foam with holes cut to size on the inside. I have a metal briefcase that holds all my stones and razors etc. Be sure to check out the library for all the starter info and the other basics of Sr shaving. Any questions feel free to ask. Ed

Consider their height and use an "… out of sight out, of mind..." approach. For an "in-use" SR try placing the razor up on the top of a cabinet next to the wall where they would be unable to see it from their height. Also, ceramics and other various home/bathroom decorations often have hollow cavities which may work to stash gear up on cabinets and shelves.

Round toothbrush holders like you get at a Dollar Store or Pharmacy work great for simple storage.

Best of luck and enjoy the journey!!

This is my best bet. Along with that, you can also put them in a container that doesn't open very easily.

    Get a pistol lockbox.
