As said previously check out the JaNorton thread and also look at Lynn Abrams and Gssixgun on youtube and you should be off to a good start

I'm trying to set up a meet with gssixguns. We talked briefly in January about getting together so he could mentor me some. I'm new to straight razors. gssixguns only lives a couple of hours from me.

If thats possible then its awesome and will definitely put you on the right path.

I just drove a little over 200 miles to meet with some razor making mentors this Saturday...it's well worth your trip I promise you.

What do you guys think about setting the bevel with 3k Naniwa, finishing with 8k Naniwa, and ultra-fine finishing with 12k Naniwa? Has anyone tried this?
