Thanked: 1263Another question that should be asked is what shape are your razors in? Are they off "the bay" or are they say a new factory Dovo out of the box? Makes a huge difference as to what hones you'll need and which direction you can go in learning.

Thanked: 2Haven't been to Sandpoint in 20 years...gives me a reason to go down! maybe do some fishing too!
Yea, that's part of my dilemma, a cheaper stone for refreshing more than honing, although they seem to be quiet similar. From what I've also read the balsa wood strop with pastes seems to work just fine, the quick stone refresh just seems to be preference.
Not even sure if I do a stone at this point in my career...more of a thought, based on what I'm reading in here about stropping and refreshing.
I'm off to bed now so I can get up and watch canada collect a gold medal in the morning!

Thanked: 2PS, rezdog, I was born up in your neck of the woods, haven't been back in 30 years, maybe I'll have to come up there as well for some lessons and fishing!
Have a great night folks!
