They're all shave ready. The Robeson seller said he'd hone it free of charge.

Thanked: 284The Robeson and FWE look like they may have pitting near or at the edge, which is disconcerting, but the FWE seller is failrly well known (I Haven't purchased from him though). The Fox and Torrey SEEM to look better but you never know. Have you looked through the classifieds here?
I love living in the past...

I have looked in the clasifieds here and on B&B. Have seen a few I like, but it would be tricky since my wife wants to buy the razor for my birthday. Much easier to just show her the link on etsy than get involved here. I could be wrong though.

Thanked: 1184You have never been around here before Christmas ? We get all kinds of nice women looking for advice on what to get their man. Of course we make sure the fellow is well taken care of :<0)
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Thanked: 634Personally I like the FWE. But then I prefer a bigger blade "6/8, 7/8. My only question is the staining on the edge. If a reputable dealer and guaranteed then no problem.

If you've never used a straight before I would recommend the round point blade. once you get comfortable using a straight you might want to venture into the larger and square point blades. beginners sometimes have trouble with points starting off. welcome to straight shaving.

Thanks gents. I think I'll go with the Torrey and have the square point dulled a bit. I love the shoulder less look and have heard nothing but good things about its sturdy American steel.
