Thread: The symptoms of R.A.D, how bad it got me!

Hello everyone, I've been meaning to post a thread like this for a while, finally today I let the lazyness aside and took some pictures of how bad I was hit by RAD. By RAD I don't mean only razor acquisition disorder, but wet shaving acquisition disorder generally.


Here are some pictures of what I got in the past 10 months. Yes, all of these are the results, or the symptoms (hehehe) of only 10 months into straight razor shaving. Here we go:

From the left: a couple of sharpening stones (a Norton 4/8k and a Naniwa 12K) a lapping plate (325) and some Chromium Oxide, a safety razor and some blades for it, on the middle we've got some brushes, the razors. On the right are the cosmetics stuff. At the back there's the strop. Some pictures per section now

A few GFT samples, a couple of GFT coconut shaving cream, same goes for the TofBS sandalwood soap, the thing on the right is some mineral oil for razor maintenance.

Looking at all of this stuff I can't help thinking about the amount of money spent on these things that I could've bought other stuff.

10 Monthes?? is that all the tip of the iceberg.

And I can see your leaning towards being a Brush man eh? Think you better have a sit down with pixelfixed, he can help you. Isn't that one called BAD - Brush Acquisition Disorder...either way, I just think we're all just misunderstood.

Nice start, but wait, it gets worse (more fun). BTW it looks like you only have one strop, so far!

Next purchase: SRD premium 4 strop!

That's not RAD! That's not even as bad as a barely perceptible case of pimples....

Thank God, my case isn't one of the worst then. You guys take it to another level, I'm calmer now hehehe. My gear is just not bigger because I live in Brazil, so I had to import all of that stuff. Anyways I think it's not bad for a 21 year old like myself. Thankfully I got into straight razor shaving early in my life, I'm sure there is a a lot more stuff out there for me to enjoy.
