Thanked: 0First shave
Hey everyone, I posted a month or so back about a razor I received for Christmas that turned out to be a gift of goodwill but not much else, it was a dud. After a lot of back and forth due to busy schedules on both sides I received a razor from another member who is in Ft. Worth. I just picked it up this morning, and I finally got a straight razor shave a few hours ago. I have to say it was great. Very smooth, no pressure necessary. I did nick myself right under my nose but it was a very small cut.
The only areas that really gave me trouble was the edge of my face/cheeks near my ears and my chin. both were shaved in the end, but I found it very difficult to get a good angle on those shaves.
All and all I just wanted to say thank you to everyone on the forum who helped me reach this point. I'm very happy with my curiosity towards straight razors a year ago and to see it come to fruition today. This forum is great, and I'll be sure to come back whenever I need help and to forward its good name to anyone else I meet who is interested in straight razor shaving.

Hey Zach, glad you managed to get a good shaver. You'll always be finding areas on you face that give you a challenge but with the right approach these too will diminish in time. By the way you don't need to be looking for answers to post up here. Come back anytime.
Keep your concentration high and your angles low!
Despite the high cost of living, it's still very popular.

Thanked: 0Zach,
Today was my first attempt at wet shaving! I used a Parker shavette and it was very smooth but not very forgiving. Best of luck to you in the learning process.
