Thanked: 43Aarg!!!
Those self inflicted dings in the edge cause an imediate and incredibly humbling feeling.
While I have been spared an incident while shaving I recently examined an edge after stropping and somehow managed to whack it against the microscope table.
I was able to correct the damage to the blade but the damage done to my feelings remain.
My personal proceedure to protect the blade edge while shaving.....
First, I never lay the razor down without closing it.
Secondly, when I wash of the whiskery lather from the blade I put the blade spine down, just below the water, and use short fast swishing motion to loosen and partially wash away the lather. Then I wipe the edge between my wet thumb pad and forefinger.
So far I have avoided trouble with this procedure but I know that need to be constantly vigilant..... or else.... Aarg!!!
