First straight shave!
Went well. 3 pass DFS with no nicks or weepers. Much smoother than my shavette ever was. Can't wait to strop and shave again!!

Thanked: 1185Sure looks like you had the supporting cast scouted out well (MWF, Semogue 1305, Clubman AS). I don't remember specifically when my first straight razor shave was (probably seven or eight years ago now). What I do remember is that it took about a half day and was so nervous you probably could not have fit a greased BB up my butt. Like the man says though, the journey of a million miles begins with the first step. The first few months the learning curve is a little steep (I'd add a stiptic pencil to your kit before you go much further). At first it seemed like every shave I was either learning or improving at things I should do, or learning the hard way things not to do. Several months later I had apparently developed adequate muscle memory and it just became how I shaved. Congrats again and welcome to the brotherhood!

Nice photo indeed! Congrats! I had my first shave about 3 weeks ago. Since then, I've purchased 2 cheap Gold Dollars (not shave ready) and honed and shaved with both. Then I got a Revisor... then a vintage SR I'm currently working on...
