Thanked: 0Badger Brush makes a huge difference in my opinon
I'm a relative newbie, but I just bought a fine badger brush from starshaving and could not be happier...first shave last night was spectacular...I didn't change any shaving techniques, but I noticed that the lather seemed to get under my stubble (2 day stubble) quite a bit better...shaving the neck area was even smoother and for the first time straight razor shaving, I did not receive any irritation whatsoever...this is the first time using the alum block, where I didn't use a profanity...I originally used a VDH boar brush before I got this one...my question is...is this the placebo effect? Or does my stubble respond better to shave soaps using badger brushes? I know people love badger, or swear by boar...all I know is that my first experience with the badger was the best shave I've had...

Glad your happy, that's what this journey is about.
Your whiskers will respond differently to a number of wetshaving factors, not just brushes & soaps, but creams, preshave prep., razor, pressure, experience,,,,,,
It looks like you took your first step toward improving your shaves with the badger brush.

Yup. Could be the brush but the important thing is that you got a better shave for whatever reason. I just used aVDH boar yesterday and a badger today and didn't notice any difference but placebo or not just run with it
What a curse be a dull razor; what a prideful comfort a sharp one
