Thread: Newbie here

Thanks all for the great advice looking forward to my first straight razor shave. I plan on doing it this Saturday. I do plan on just doing my cheeks for a day or two just to get used to it.

Read a bit, watch some videos, ask questions, and learn about how others starting out are having successful early outings. Don't be discouraged if you have a less than ideal shave early on. Or two. Take your time with the act of shaving. Develop the muscle memory. Straight shaving isn't like some other things we teach ourselves. You're unlikely to have any single huge "eureka moment" that will lead to total and permanent success. More than likely, a series of small ones. But worth the trip!
