Thanked: 4828the single most important thing with your straight razor is that it is truly shave ready. Of course I am presuming that it is quality steel. Many sell razors that have the factory edge, that is inadequate in most cases. I have not heard any information on the brand in the link. The company name has been around for a while and makes me think of brushes and DE razors.
It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

I don't think muhle manufactures razors. I'd guess they've contracted either dovo or giessen-forsthoff for that one. If it's a dovo it's a good razor if it's giessen-forsthoff better stay away from it.
Even if it's a dovo razor it most likely needs to be honed post its factory edge.
If it were me I'd ask them more questions about the razor.
I'd also check how much more expensive would be to get a kit with this razor:

That's a good brand and from what I hear they come with a proper edge so won't need additional honing.

I would be wary of anything saying world known razor that no one knows about. There are a few suppliers in England that have quality kits. I know there is the invisible edge. Try using the search and I'm sure you will find a few more. Good luck
My wife calls me.........Can you just use Ed

Thanked: 0Thanks for the input. I've looked at the invisible edge sits as well now, I've sent some emails and just waiting for them to reply (I like good customer service before I buy). Looking forward to ordering my first blade by the end of the week!

Try Revisor if you want to do with a current production. I'd choose them over Dovo as well.

I'd just have a razor shipped to whoever is doing the honing, no matter what. For instance, when I eventually grab a NOS from Revisor, I'll have it shipped to The Gentleman's Den, as he handles my honing and restoration, and not my home address. I'd actually recommend doing something similar instead of choosing any new production razor (some of the NOS razors that revisor has are very reasonably priced) for a starter razor...the cost is pretty much the same, and you'll be getting a better shaver out of it.
