Does it get any better than this?
Easter morning of '68: I awoke to a small boy doing karate chops on my back. Of course, he wanted something for his version of a back massage. A few days earlier, we'd been pulled out of Khe Sanh, where we helped lift the siege on the Marine base there. In a few weeks, we'd start a three week operation in the Ashau Valley, that turned into a three month operation. After five months in combat, I was pulled out and reassigned to an Infantry company, serving an M.P. Brigade, guarding a pipeline of JP4 and something else. I survived, came back to the world, got a good education, married up, and was blessed with a great son and daughter-in-law. I retire as a Lutheran pastor in eighteen days, my social security, pension, and investments will be more than my previous take-home, and I had a really, really good SR shave today. Does it get any better than this? God is good.

It appears that you hit the trifecta--a good education, great family and a really good SR shave. God is indeed good.
And congratulations on your upcoming retirement. Stay active.
