First Shave
Well, I worked up a bit of nerve this morning and tried my first straight razor shave.
I purchased a 6/8 Wusthof-Trident from a fellow member at the Badger & Blade and stropped it this morning on an Illinois 827. I did one WTG pass on my entire face and neck. I finished up with a Gillette Super Adjustable. No nicks, cuts, or blood!!
My, what a focusing process this is! I think I will keep with this pattern for a while until I get comfortable with the technique, especially shaving the left side with my weak hand. That was very interesting.
Anyway, I hadn't been by in a while and thought I would toot my horn a little. It feels good to have the first go around a success.

Good for you. Welcome to the adventure, and great choice of words, "focusing process". These days we seem to do everything semi-consciously. Using a SR, concentration is demanded, at least for me still at the 9 month mark.
Just call me Harold
