    Default Pressure is the heart.

Something that has become profoundly clear to me in the past week is that almost everything in straight razor shaving revolves around pressure! My biggest break thru was the need for forward not downward pressure during my shave. Your strokes have to be very deliberate. Pressure is everything though; honing, stropping, shaving and even making lather! Just something I learned and wanted to share. Always be mindful of your pressure and how and where you're applying it.
Razor rich, but money poor. I should have diversified into Eschers!

Well spoken - and you have stepped through one of the most important doors in the path of smooth shaving.
This will also serve you when you maintain & hone..

How many shaves - pray tell - did it take to get to this enlightenment?

Well put. Your words were spot on! Probably the most important thing for new shavers to understand.

Ha far too many shaves to be honest I have not kept count. I always assumed it was a sharpness issue but was mistaken. I needed a sure stroke is all!
