    Default HHT

    Hi Guys!!

Just a quick question. In Jan of this year I purchased a straight and paddle strop of Tony Miller, and it came shave ready.I have been having come good shaves although I still use my DE for the chin area. I think I am stropping the razor correctly although I cannot perfect the hanging hair test.If I bring the hair down to meet the blade it will not cut the hair.Sometimes if I bring the hair across the blade itwill cut.
I have heard that much about this test that I am paranoid now that the razor is not sharp enough. Please advise.

    Regards Alan

    Default Welcome, Alan

HHT is not the be all and end all, The Shave Test is. There are so many variables in the HHT that you have to get the feel for it yourself. Make sure you hold the root of the hair out. I find that clean hairs respond better than oily ones. Coarse hairs respond better than fine ones. The razor is a factor too. Don't worry too much about it. When you feel you're close, go for the shave. I'll be blogging on this shortly.
