Thanked: 0Beginner
Hey guys Ed here I've been wanting to get a straight razor for a while but been pushed back because of how expensive they can get I'm in college and money is tight right now. Nonetheless I came across three straight razors that are quite affordable I just want to get an expert's opinion on the matter if it will be a good buy or just a waste of money. The first two pics is a HMC. The second set is a Solinger Special and the last two is a Nested Bros. Looking up Solinger returns Sonlingen which is known for it's cutlery which gives me suspicion that it might be a fake. And HMC I know can be quite good. Any advice that I could get would be apreciate it.

Nice blades. They should hone to shavereadiness and then shave well. Enjoy.

Thanked: 31+1 what earcutter said about the round point. They are much more fogiving at the tip. Just make sure you get it professionally honed up. Have fun. And don't forget to study.
