...... Is a virtue. SR shaving is becoming such a pleasure that I dream about the next shave! The maiden voyage was such a thrill I could hardly wait for the next one. Being a newbie to this art and admittedly a rather nervous nellie when it comes to safety, the first few were wrought with shakey hands and breathless anxiety. From the advice of experts and countless videos the biggest hurdle overcome was relaxing, breathing and lightening up on my grip (both shaving and stropping). What a difference!! Less pulling on my beard as the hairs are cut instead of scraped and stropping feels much more natural. There is still a long way to go with this journey but discovering and embracing the little nuances is a thrill, not to mention deeply satisfying. So now having recognized and admitted to the awareness of impatience and nerves I can relax, take my time, learn technique and enjoy!
The next hurdles of figuring out the contours of my chin and jaw are not as scary BUT the hurdle of figuring out how to get my beard to grow faster so I can shave again seems to be the hardest....
    So, Patience
(6 shaves in, your mileage may vary - I'm sure to be a little slower than most)

Very glad to hear that you are enjoying the journey,
I have said before light pressure but confident strokes are important to comfort and closeness.
The chin will come I use the bottom 1/3 of the blade for the corners of it.
As for hair growth, well I cant help.

Enjoy the shaves and as always ask any questions you have.

    Pwort,

I walked the very same path!! Amazing how helpful breathing is, Huh!!! I also remember how extraordinarily hot the bathroom seemed and the perspiration (nervous) rolled off my forehead.

Sounds like you've got a handle on it and the chin will come. Keep Having a Fun!!

    Best Regards,

    Howard

That's why I put on deodorant after my shower and right before I shave!
