Thanked: 0Newbie!
Hey guys, Just wanted to pop by and say hi.
I completed my second shave last night, with the grain. Everything is good so far. Used Castle Forbes shave cream. Stropped the Theirs-issard 6/8 singing blade about 40 laps. Im noticing its not as sharp as it could be so I'm going to get it professionally honed.
Other then that its going pretty good, a few nicks here and there but excited to learn more and share more with you guys.
p.s. This forum is awesome

Welcome to SRP.
If your razor was not professionally honed, did you home it yourself?

Thanked: 0No I did not hone it myself. Just thought I would follow the company's instructions but everything i've read says get it honed.

Thanked: 23Also remember light to no pressure when you're stropping. It's easy to dull a freshly-honed edge with 40-50 heavy strokes on a strop. I know from experience. :-)

Welcome and glad you got it honed. Now even though it's a singer don't make it sing while stropping or it'll end up being a very sad song indeed.
Keep your concentration high and your angles low!
Despite the high cost of living, it's still very popular.
