Default I take back what I said about Gillette gel...

I had posted earlier about just using the gel, as it was easier than making lather. So a couple days ago, I got to really looking at my face, really close, and spank me, some of the hairs aren't getting cut, they're getting bent over and pressed against my face, and stuck there I think because of the thick gel.

Switched back to making the lather, and not seeing it. I'm gonna mess with it a few more times, but dang....

We won't gloat, we won't gloat... WE TOLD YOU SO!!!

    Sorry about that.

The gels really are formulated for something entirely different than straight razor shaving. They work OK for what they're designed for--which is numbing your face a bit and keeping cartridge razors from chewing up your face. They don't work as well for standing hairs up and softening them for a clean cut.

Now you just need to avoid getting SCAD...
