New to forums in UK
Hello all,
i have been using a relatively cheap razor and disposable straight blades for the last couple of years and loved it. I have finally got round to upgrade to a tradional vintage razor.
I have just purchased a Taylor of Sheffield Witness 1000.
Looking forward to learning lots more about straight razors.

Thanked: 129Hi there and welcome, you'll find this a great place to learn. Any questions or help you need just ask.
You'll need a strop for your razor and unless it came to you shave ready you'll need to get it honed, ideally by someone who knows what they are doing.

Hi welcome to the SRP, the Taylors 1000 are good shavers.

Hi,
Thank you everyone for warm welcome.
I have been using a Hawk razor for the last couple of years so own a strop and some honing stones. The strop I have was only cheap though (£15 off eBay) so will be looking to upgrade soon if anyone has any suggestions they would be greatly appreciated.
