i think i've got it
just to say had my 10th shave without a cut and cant believe the difference in the shave you get with a straight razor only got a shavette at the moment but look forward to shaving now its a pleasure

Welcome. I think the straight razor has been around as long as it has because it is so effective, it just can't be beat.

Congrats! As for nicks and cuts they never end. I have used a straight for over 20 years. Occasionally I nick myself. The other day I was in a hurry and hit my cheek at the wrong angle. Nice 1 inch long cut. So again congrats and enjoy. Don't sweat the small nicks.
