    Default ATG

Hi guys. A question from a less experienced shaver.

I've been shaving with a shavette (Astra blades) since December. Proraso red shaving soap. No pre oils just hot water. And can get 2 good passes with and x the grain but against pulls a lot. Seemingly regardless of how much aggressive or non my shaving angle is.

    Any tips or ideas?

Thanks in advance from a hopeful poster.

Lower the blade angle for the against the grain pass. I use about a 10 degree angle for ATG with my shavette. Or maybe your beard is so coarse that it is dulling the blade. Have you tried putting in a fresh blade for an ATG pass?

I agree with the very low angle advice. Additionally, in tougher and/or more sensitive areas I use very light, short "pulsating" strokes. Hard to explain exactly, but I hope that makes sense.
