    Nice work. Its a shame you lost the gold on the blade. Did the inlay in the scales polish up? Could not tell in photos. Congrats. Each one will be better than the last.

    i could not save the gold , u see the razor were in bad shape, i have to repin it and maybe polish the scales, the scales are plastic, what kind of material can i use to polish scales?

    Keep an eye on that Blade,I think you have a case of cell rot,Resto looks great.

    Looks great, reminds me a lot of my NOS Horstator.

    You did a fine job, as said before you'll only improve and you've got a great start!

    No amount of washing can stop cell rot, its a "rotting" of the celluloid material that releases an acidic gas that will eat away nearby metal, as well as rot other celluloid near it, especially in enclosed boxes.

    personally I never cared for the celluloid scales and simply replaced them with scales made of a nice type of wood. I did this even before I ever heard of cell rot

    Being the stressed person I am already, this "cellrot" thing got me panicked...

    How do I know if my scales are plastic or celluloid? If there isn't much corrosion on the blade when I got it, is it safe to assume that the evil handle isn't murdering my blade?
    Is there any way to prevent mother nature from ruining my beloved razors.....?
