Thanked: 634Nice work. Its a shame you lost the gold on the blade. Did the inlay in the scales polish up? Could not tell in photos. Congrats. Each one will be better than the last.

The scales are made of celluloid, very common on 20th century razors.
When celluloid starts to break down it releases gases the will corrode steel and ruin any celluloid in close proximity(one razor with cellrot can lead to several razors with cellrot if you store them together)
Celluloid degradation is irreversible so if those scales have it you'll have to trash them or your razor will get ruined.

Looks great, reminds me a lot of my NOS Horstator.
You did a fine job, as said before you'll only improve and you've got a great start!

Cell rot caught in time;
Cell rot, allowed to progress;
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
