Default This is my razor. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

    Böker Tree Brand.

Hello, and thanks for the greatly informative website. I got a nice anniversary present from the wife. Still waiting on a Fromm IRS827 strop coming in the mail - but I couldn't wait and did two shaves so far already.I think I'm hooked.

Nice razor. How did you acquire it? Is it shave ready? Have you shaved with it? Inquiring minds want to know.

I noticed that the local coin shop that I frequent started carrying Boeker straight razors, and I suggested this to my wife as a gift - she picked me one out after convincing me she wasn't going to get me one.

I had watched a few Youtube videos on straight razor shaving and hadn't yet discovered this website, so I went ahead and shaved once with the factory shave. There was some pulling in places and awkwardness, but I can't conclusively say this is because of the razor's factory condition, or my beginner technique. I didn't quite have the right skin stretching technique down on the first shave. I shaved once more after doing some light stropping on denim. (Real strop coming in the mail.)

The first shave I nicked myself twice, nothing too bad, and rinsed with some witch hazel afterwards. The second one I got much closer, with no cuts, and so I think my technique improved quite a bit.

Both shaves were with regular canned shaving cream - but I've since received some COLC shaving cream and a brush that I look forward to using on the next one.

Good razor...Bokers are some of the better blades out there today. You gotta love the micarta scales too..

Once you get it professionally honed you will then know how it feels to shave with a straight razor! It really is night and day! Lynn is in your area but there are also other honers who do some fantastic edges. I have a couple of favorites, send me a PM and I'll elaborate.

Welcome to a whole new world. It's a long strange trip but well worth the journey

    Enjoy the ride.

Congratulations, I started not so long back and my first razor was a new boker king cutter and I love it. I don't think you will be dissapointed with it but like others have said, send it out to get honed properly. Even if you only ever do it once IMO it is essential, not optional. You really do need to feel and see a pro honed edge to experience a true straight shave and to know what you are aiming for if and when you hone your own razors

At the moment, until you get that razor truly shave ready you are doing yourself and the razor an injustice. Believe me if you like what you have experienced so far you are going to LOVE it when that razor it truly ready to shave. Straight razor shaving has quickly become something I look forward to in an evening, its my little bit of me time !

Hi and welcome. As said send it to be honed. Being able to shave and shave ready ate two different things. Good luck and any questions feel free to ask

    Welcome to SRP.
Seems like a fine razor to start with.
