    Default Our new members

I thought I would share a few thoughts on the subject of new members to our family here at SRP.

When I first joined this forum some 4+ years ago I was flabbergasted by the fact that my introduction post was so gratiously met by so many great people.
Being a foreigner to most of you, I wasn't prepared for that!
It was a major part in me staying and thus learning this old art.
And it made me some very good friends, many of whom I have actually been fortunate enough to meet in person.
Be it here in Norway, Denmark, in England or over there in the US.

It had such an impact on me that I still search the forum for new posts in the welcome center most every day.
Especially those where the reply count is low.
I'd hate for anyone to reach out to us and receive no answers or welcomes from us as a community.

SRP is still that same great place where people are warmly welcomed by many of our members, a fact I love to see.

Anyways, I just wanted to make a post for all our new members and ask all of our senior members to keep this great tradition going.

To me, every new member joining in is a potentially new friend

I too had noticed the large number of new members. Welcome to all of you. It's nice to see more people interested in this hobby.

I also try to touch base with the new members with low number of replies if I have some useful info for them. I think all of us that have been here for a while try to give back to the new guys what we received when we were new. That is what is so great about the SRP community/family, every one is out to help every one else. If it weren't for help from the senior members when we first started we probably wouldn't be senior members today.

Here, here, birnando! I, too, was very pleasantly surprised by the response I got to my own introduction post.

To all the new guys reading this, even if you're just lurking and haven't joined yet, feel free to say hello and know that we welcome each and every one of you. This is, IMO, the friendliest forum I've ever been a part of, and there are lots of us who want to help in whatever way we can.

This is a great place. The good people here welcomed me and encouraged me through what was pretty darn scary at first. The information you can get here is valuable and the learning process continues as I visit and read the contributions of other members. I've purchased some fine razors from SRP folk too. If you are just visiting but have a keen interest you will want to register as a member.
