WHERE ARE YOU? Put your location in your profile so that I can see where you are. Those would be a treat to clean and hone for use. I want to see if you are close to me, probably not as Memphis is a toxic waste land as far as anything that I am interested in.

Thanked: 1haha no I'm up in the northeast. And I will probably hone it, but not do much in terms of cleaning. I like that it looks old.

Razors that look like yours do get a mild cleaning from me and that is just to get rid of 300+ years of crud that accumulates. How well can you hone? Honing a razor is NOT like sharpening a knife. Find a mentor in your area by PUTTING YOUR LOCATION IN YOUR PROFILE, that can help you hone them and show you the intricacies of shaving, stropping and lathering.

Very nice looking razors, I agree a cleaning, honing and a shave are in order for them.

Should you decide to have a look at professional honing and or clean up you are welcome to check our classifieds area, and have a look under member services, where you will find some gentlemen with serious qualifications to do any work you may want to have done on your razors. These folks are tried and tested. Enjoy.

The second one is C J Healy 1894-1895 & was on 121 Chambers Street, New York City. I got my information from the Goins Encylopedia of Cutlery Markings.
You scored well & I would say there must not be so many of the Healy's around since they were only manufactured for two years but it depends on how fast they were putting them out. Still just two years isn't long so I think you got a hell of a deal.Last edited by engine46; 08-01-2014 at 04:46 PM.

Thanked: 1Thanks for the info! I think knowing the history of them is just as interesting as the age its self. Certainly made my day! Any idea where I can find info on the older one?
