Ok, first razor ordered. My wife will kill me but that's ok. Forgiveness is often easier to obtain then permission. Ordered the Boker Edelweiss to start. Will decide on a good 3in strop and get that ordered next

I think the reason for "out of stock" is because straights have made a big come back from back in the day & people are loving them more than the multi blade razors sold today plus those blade refills are expensive. Many people have gone from those back to straights or SE's & DE's which is nothing wrong with, it all depends on your taste & preference.

Welcome aboard and excited to hear how your first shave works out. The Boker Edelweiss is a fine first. It already comes with a round point which is the most important beginner quality in a first razor. It's a bit more forgiving. Congrats!!
